How PokeBot Uses Sources
Published 19 August 2026
PokeBot helps collectors understand exact card details, guide-price history, population reports and relevant official announcements. It shows sources and dates where they are available, and it clearly marks information that is missing, old or uncertain.
Matching the right card
PokeBot first matches the card, set, printed number, language and finish. If more than one version could match, you will be asked to choose before PokeBot answers. A photo can help identify a catalogue match, but PokeBot does not authenticate a card, assess its condition or assign a grade.
Prices and sales
Guide prices are shown for the exact supported card version and condition. Each price includes a date and remains separate from completed sales and current asking prices. A guide is not an appraisal, an offer or a guaranteed sale price. Condition, authenticity, grading, fees, location, demand and liquidity can all affect what a card sells for.
PokeBot does not fill gaps with estimated prices. When a current guide or enough dated history is unavailable, it says so.
Population reports
Population figures are dated reports from the named grading company or data source. They can change as more cards are graded or records are updated. They do not count every ungraded copy, guarantee rarity or value, or provide a direct comparison between grading companies.
Card history and official announcements
Historical card stories come from PokeCardr’s independently written Vintage Archive and its listed sources. Details that cannot be verified are left out or clearly described as uncertain.
Relevant official announcements may appear beside a card analysis when they are directly cited and clearly connected to that card. News remains separate from guide-price calculations and does not, by itself, prove why a price moved.
Conditional outlooks
When enough dated information is available, PokeBot may describe downside, base and upside conditions. These are scenarios to help collectors understand uncertainty, not price targets, probabilities, appraisals or recommendations to buy or sell. If a responsible outlook cannot be supported, PokeBot does not provide one.
Your Vault and conversations
Vault answers are calculated for your signed-in PokeCardr account. Private notes, storage locations and your full card list remain within PokeCardr and are not shared with outside data services for an answer. Questions and answers are not saved as a conversation.
Corrections
Sources can change and records can contain errors. If something looks wrong, contact support@pokecardr.com with the card, source and detail you would like PokeCardr to review.
